It is very common today for both partners to shop for their engagement ring together. Engagement rings have long been considered the ultimate celebration of love and commitment, and given it is such an important decision we see more couples choosing their perfect ring together, rather than one shopping alone. How long do engagement rings take to make?

Many of our high-quality engagement rings are available to be delivered to you immediately. If you require our jewellers to resize the ring for you this may take up to 7 days if the ring size is between L and Q. At Secrets Shhh, we also offer a custom order service, and our jewellers can customise our rings to fit a wider range of finger sizes from very small to larger sizes. We can also offer our rings in a different gold colours – for example rose and white gold. Our custom order service where we make the ring specifically to your requirements will usually take 6 - 8 weeks.

The Oval cut is now our second most popular shape, overtaking the princess cut followed by pear, radiant, square, or princess cut, emerald, Asscher, cushion, and marquise. For example, if you have long slender fingers, you may consider a marquise or oval cut which can accentuate the length of your finger. How do I choose the diamond quality for my engagement ring?

What is the difference between an engagement ring and a promise ring?

An engagement ring is usually given during a proposal. Regarded as the ultimate symbol of love, it will signify your intent to marry and enter a lifelong relationship. A promise ring is usually given as a promise and commitment to a relationship when there is no immediate thought of proposing. It is usually given early in the relationship as a sign of affection and a desire to enter into a relationship that may or may not include marriage. Promise rings are also normally smaller in design with smaller center stones. Often a dress ring is also given as a promise ring.

What is the difference between a lab-grown diamond simulant and a lab-grown diamond? Both are grown in a laboratory, with the main difference being in their chemical structure. Lab-grown diamonds are grown from carbon and share the same chemical structure as mined diamonds. Do lab-grown diamond simulants look fake?

Absolutely not! Our Signature Lab-grown diamond simulants are virtually indistinguishable to the naked eye from the rarest white natural diamonds. They disperse the same light and sparkle as the finest cut diamonds. The reason some people worry is because many mined diamond engagement rings they have seen use lower quality diamonds, or even clusters of small diamond chips to create the appearance of one larger diamond. The result is many diamond engagement rings simply do not sparkle as they should.
